Program Description

Questar III's Pre-kindergarten Program provides comprehensive child development services to classes of 16 children during the school year. Targeted toward children from lower-income families or experiencing risk factors, the program follows New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations for pre-kindergarten programs. It is partially funded by a NYSED grant.

Note: Limited grant funding allows the program to be operated in only three districts. Qualifying districts may enroll in the program when a district currently enrolled in the program drops the service.

• How To Add This Service: Enroll in the service when submitting the year’s Final Service Request or join the service later by submitting a FSR amendment. All documentation as required by the Intake Committee must be submitted.
• Cost Methodology: While the program’s cost is largely funded through the NYSED grant, local share must provide for staff salaries and benefits not covered by the grant.
• Additional Services: Experienced pre-kindergarten professionals work with district staff to transition students into the kindergarten program.
