Content Management (previously known as Maintenance)
This service helps school districts manage the posting of website content during the year. Questar III’s webmaster will post new content, as provided by the school district, and make content revisions to existing pages. This service does not include a website redesign, hosting, technical support or accessibility training/audits.
Site Hosting & Technical Support – NEW
This service is available to districts whose website was developed by Questar III. The Technology Service will host your website and provide technical support and troubleshooting to keep your website up and running. This includes WordPress updates, backups, modifying plugins, managing permissions, server monitoring, and phone/email support. This service saves districts from having to purchase/maintain their own servers and deploy their network engineers to spend hours to maintain the website.
Accessibility Services – NEW
School districts must provide people with disabilities access to web-based information that is comparable to that provided to non-disabled users (under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990). Questar III offers several services to help districts expand their audiences and comply with the law. This includes:
It is important for school staff to under how to design and create content that is accessible. Questar III recommends two trainings to help school staff understand the importance of accessibility and their role in creating accessible content. Additional training can be requested based on your needs.
- Awareness Training – to help school staff develop an understanding of accessibility and build enthusiasm and awareness of best practices.
- Follow-Up Training – to work with school staff to improve their understanding and to build institutional knowledge that supports accessibility.
Questar III will evaluate how well your website supports the needs of all users, including those with disabilities. This annual audit will outline specific areas needing remediation (including violations to Section 508 and W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines) and identify best practices to improve your customer reach and minimize your risk.
Questar III will work with districts (that purchased the auditing service) on a per hour basis to help develop a plan for implementing audit recommendations and supporting an environment of inclusion and accessibility. This may include creating accessibility policies, mapping and assigning responsibilities, reviewing in-district processes, establishing a framework, etc.
Other Website Projects
This hourly service is available for districts that may not purchase the above website services, or for special projects (such as training, intranet development or other programming). The district will be provided with an estimated number of hours to complete the requested project.
