Product Description

Questar III coordinates the planning and implementation of a two-way interactive video/voice network that shares educational programs and staff development opportunities between school districts and BOCES

Schools participating in this service use a state-of-the-art interactive telecommunications system to teach courses simultaneously in several different high school buildings. Through this service, NERIC assists the governance structure overseeing this collaborative project and assists with day-to-day operations through technical and logistical support. Schools participating in the service also receive help in technical planning, installation and training. Schools can use the Distance Learning Network to share professional development and community-based programs. Videoconferences may be implemented via the Distance Learning Network.

Program support by Questar III includes coordination of instructional program opportunities for school districts to partner with other local school districts, colleges, universities, museums, zoos, and science centers. Program offerings include HS/College level courses, staff development workshops and virtual field trips to instructional content providers.

Faculty/staff workshops are provided to train on the technical aspects, as well as program offerings available.
