Program Description

Questar III's Regents 6:1:2 program provides a highly supportive educational option for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities who require an individualized academic program. Students in this program have the opportunity to work towards a Regents diploma while strengthening their social and emotional skills. The program provides a rigorous school-wide behavioral management system and highly structured classroom environment. A focus on the development of social skills, problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution practices are of primary importance. The Special Education 6:1:2 includes child psychiatric consultation, social work and psychology support, behavior specialist consultation, physical education or adaptive physical education, and access as needed to crisis intervention and transition planning services. The program is comprised of four students, one teacher, and two teaching assistants.

Note: Questar III's classroom programs are full day and run September through June with an extended year program as an option.

  • How To Add This Service: Continuing students may be enrolled in the service when submitting the Final Service Request (FSR). Subsequent to formal acceptance by the Questar III Intake Committee, new students may be enrolled in
  • Cost Methodology: Staff salaries and benefits + operating lines and infrastructure expenses / by the estimated pupil enrollment = cost per pupil.
  • Additional Services: This program is correlated with all Questar III Related Services particularly but not limited to: Individual Teaching Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Orientation and Mobility, Physical Therapy, Psych
