Product Description

Questar III’s Information Technology Service offers districts a shared, on-site Network Systems Engineer (NSE) on a daily, ongoing basis or on a daily substitute as-needed basis. This service enables districts to more efficiently integrate technology into the curriculum and supports district efforts to implement New York State learning standards. NSE’s work with a wide variety of networking equipment from desktops to servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wiring. Network system engineers can assist in the planning for computer projects, as well as the implementation. A NSE is able to use a variety of tools to assist in the maintenance and documentation of an existing network, as well as diagnosing any problems. NSE’s can assist in deployment of new equipment and software. NSE’s have specialized expertise in many areas of technology which include but are not limited security, planning, project management, wireless, virtualization, IP phones, MDM management, sever administration. Districts requiring consulting services for specialized technology projects should contact Questar III to customize a proposal for services. The service operates with the NSE working in a 12-month position. If Questar III’s network systems engineer is unfamiliar with the district’s specific network system, Questar III will provide training to ensure the engineer is well versed and knowledgeable. Note: A specific job description for network systems engineer is available. NSE’s do not perform Web site design or application programming.

Service provided by Network Systems Engineers is available for purchase in the following offerings:

1 Day Per Week Annually (Pre-Purchased FSR process annually) – $23,760
1- 8 Hour Day (multiple days are available at this rate as requested & approved) – $652

(Security Assessments, Apple product deployments, Fiber cabling, Tech planning, Wireless deployments, etc.) We have multiple engineers with multiple years of experience implementing and supporting all the technologies found in school districts. Annual Commitment Examples:

Every Monday for a 12-month school year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. This is a set day unless there are extenuating circumstances and prior authorization is approved to change days. Vacations, holidays and sick time are included in cost.  Substitutes are not provided and there is no reimbursement or credit for missed time. Cost ($23,760)

Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for a 12-month school year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.   This is a set day unless there are extenuating circumstances and prior authorization is approved to change days. Vacations, holidays and sick time are included in cost and are not reimbursed or made up.   Cost ($23,760*3=$71,280)
