Product Description

Addresses College and Career Ready as outlined in the Regents Reform Agenda. Provides seniors or Juniors with the opportunity to link classroom experiences with the world of work. Students will be placed in worksites matching career and/or college pathways. Placements can occur in Fall and/or Spring semesters. Placement scheduling is flexible and may occur during regular school hours and/or evenings and weekends. Experiences may be both paid or unpaid. Students, CEIP coordinator and mentor/employers work in partnership to create training plans.Students will be monitored and sites selected to ensure historical compliance with Federal and NYS labor laws as well as compliance with OSHA regulations. Students are evaluated daily and summative evaluations by all parties are compiled.

Cost Methodology

$684.00 per placement. Operating lines plus infrastructure expenses divided by projected number of students equals cost per pupil. Students provide their own transportation to worksites.

Additional Services

Students will create a capstone document researching a career choice.

Additional Benefits

Students will be given a Certificate of Employability from the Schenectady County Chamber program. Unpaid internships-1/2 credit to be awarded for a 54 hour placement, 1 credit for a 108 hour placemen
